Great News for the California Night Lizard!

This week’s endangered species is on its way out – in a good way!  On February 4, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed delisting the California Night Lizard from the Endangered Species Act.  Thanks to a conservation plan focusing on habitat restoration andIsland night lizard education, the species, which is found only on the Channel Islands off the coast of southern California, has rebounded sufficiently to be delisted!  To learn more, check out the Center for Biological Diversity’s press release.
